Recent economic challenges have created pent-up demand for leisure activities. At the 2012 Puyallup RV Show at the Puyallup Fair and Events Center Thursday, May 3rd thru Sunday, May 6th, many ideas will be featured to provide affordable leisure options ranging from RVs to vacation homes. Organized by the MHRV Show Association, the show is in it's 39th year. For more information see

The RV industry is seeing a tremendous resurgence reflected in bigger shipments and increased attendance at shows nationwide. “The Seattle RV Show in February was near record attendance as first time buyers and experienced RVers alike continue to seek the carefree RV lifestyle,” says Show Director Dave Helgeson. "We anticipate similar interest at the Puyallup RV Show with renewed interest in obtaining affordable leisure-time options." For a short video, see

“This year we have added Ask the Technician and RV Walk Through, attractions to the show,” continues Helgeson. “New and existing RV enthusiasts will be able to meet with a seasoned RV Technician to ask questions about anything related to RV accessories, repairs and emerging RV technology,” said Helgeson. “The RV Walk-Through is a chance for attendees to do a walk-through just as if they were taking delivery of their very first RV. This allows them to learn the intricate details of how most RVs and their on-board equipment function so they feel more confident when making a purchasing decision.”

Travel trailers remain the most popular RVs, and manufacturers have created innovative new designs - including smaller, fuel-efficient, lightweight and eco-friendly RVs – with floor plans that appeal to families and cost-conscious buyers. “Shoppers looking for more stationary vacation or retirement housing will enjoy exploring three fully decorated manufactured homes and park models on display at the fairgrounds,” says Helgeson. Built to be towed and placed in a natural setting, Park Model RVs are approximately 400 square feet and feature the amenities and floor plan of a vacation cabin.

Now in its 39th year, the Puyallup RV Show is the ideal place to see hundreds of models and learn about hybrid RV home options, site locations and financing alternatives. Competition between dealers, special show pricing, factory incentives, and friendly financing options make purchasing an RV or vacation home at the Puyallup RV Show a fun and rewarding experience.

For the first time, Washington State Employees Credit Union (WSECU) is the Presenting Sponsor of the event. The credit union, which primarily serves employees in the public sector and their families, will have a presence at the show and will be able to assist those eligible with applying for an RV loan. “We’re very excited about this opportunity and look forward to participating,” noted Julie Lind, AVP of Lending.

While credit accessibility has been an issue for many industries, financing IS available to qualified borrowers for RVs. Price points and interest rates remain very favorable; in addition, interest on the loan may be tax-deductible for many buyers. WSECU will be on-site to assist those qualified and wishing to finance an RV. For current rates, visit
