TRX Systems announced it has won the Innovator Award presented by the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council (CRTC) at its annual TechAwards 2012 event. This is the latest in a succession of awards for TRX Systems which delivers precise, infrastructure free, indoor tracking of personnel in areas where GPS is not reliable or is unavailable.
The Innovator Award is given to a company, located in the Washington/Baltimore/Annapolis region that best exemplifies the entrepreneurship and innovative style it takes to keep the technology industry cutting-edge and forward moving. TRX Systems was recognized for its development of the TRX indoor location system which uses sensor fusion and map building technology to deliver location in areas where pre-installed infrastructure is not reliable or difficult to install.
"The TechAwards 2012 recipients represent the tremendous amount of talent and technological innovation that can be found in the Chesapeake region,” said Tim Lorello, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. and president of the CRTC. "TRX Systems proved worthy of this year’s Innovator Award by showing how their revolutionary indoor tracking systems can be used by our civilian government and military to keep us safe and secure.”
“We are honored to be the recipient of the CRTC’s Innovator Award for 2012,” said Carol Politi, CEO, TRX Systems. “Indoor location is now recognized to be the last mile in location services. Defense and public safety applications are especially challenging since they require the ability to monitor personnel location without pre-installed infrastructure.
