Lutronic’s ADVANTAGE provides optimal efficacy by utilizing a larger spot size that reduces treatment time and penetrates deeply to maximize hair removal outcomes.
Fremont, CA (PRWEB) April 19, 2012
Lutronic, Inc., announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted regulatory clearance to market the ADVANTAGE hair removal laser. As a global technology company, Lutronic develops, manufactures and sells lasers and alternative therapeutic devices for aesthetic and medical applications. "Although Diode Hair Removal lasers are well respected and popular among healthcare professionals, we entered the market to improve upon current devices and also address a growing replacement market for the hair removal segment,” said Jhung Vojir, Ph.D., and CEO of U.S. Operations.
Laser hair removal is the highest volume laser procedure in the aesthetic market with millions of procedures performed annually. The ADVANTAGE Laser makes treatment faster and more efficacious allowing practices to be more efficient and enable a better return on their investment.
Made in the US, the ADVANTAGE utilizes stacked arrays of high-powered semiconductor diodes to provide physicians a best-in-class laser hair removal system. The primary investigator, Dr. Woo-Serk Koh, Dermatologist at the JMO Clinic in South Korea commented, “Lutronic’s ADVANTAGE provides optimal efficacy by utilizing a larger spot size that reduces treatment time and penetrates deeply to maximize hair removal outcomes.”
Clinical studies have been performed with 800-810nm diode lasers to validate the efficacy of laser hair removal in patient populations for over a decade. Lutronic re-engineered the technology to reduce treatment times and provide parameters that enhance efficacy and increase comfort, allowing physicians to optimize treatments based on skin type and hair specifications. Dr. Koh further states, “Unlike most other hair removal systems, ADVANTAGE allows users to adjust both the fluence and pulse widths to provide customized treatments according to individual patient needs.”
Headquartered in Seoul, Korea, Lutronic Corporation formed in 1997 is a publicly listed global company (KOSDAQ) with North American, Japanese and European operations, and branches or authorized distributorships in over 60 countries.
