The International Stability Operations Association is pleased to announce that Ambassador Luis CdeBaca will keynote the Combating Labor Trafficking conference, hosted by ISOA and the American Bar Association in Washington, D.C. on 1 May 2012.
Ambassador CdeBaca was appointed by President Obama in 2009 to coordinate U.S. government activities in the global fight against contemporary forms of slavery. He serves as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, and directs the State Department’s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons.
The one day event will include a diverse line up of speakers including representative from the private sector, nongovernmental organizations, the U.S. government and legal professionals. Discussions will investigate the effectiveness of legal and compliance mechanisms in battling labor trafficking worldwide. Benjamin Skinner, investigative journalist and author of A Crime So Monstrous: Face-to-Face with Modern-Day Slavery (Free Press; 2008), will also keynote.

The conference is hosted by ISOA, ABA Section of Public Contract Law-Battle Space and Contingency Procurements Committee, and the ABA Section of International Law-International Human Rights Committee.
