Erick has a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the global fundraising environment
(PRWEB) April 20, 2012
The Riverside Company has added Erick Bronner to lead the firm’s Investor Relations department. Bronner brings 20 years of private equity fundraising and investment banking experience, most recently as a Founding Partner at Mercury Capital Advisors, a global private equity fundraising and investment advisory firm. Prior to Mercury, Bronner was a Managing Director in Merrill Lynch's Private Equity Funds Group. As Global Head, Fundraising and Investor Relations, Bronner assumes the reins from Christine Croissant, who is moving into a part-time role with the Investor Relations team.
Bronner will spearhead Riverside’s efforts to meet the needs of a growing base of international investors as head of a department that numbers seven individuals today and manages the firm’s $3.4 billion in assets across four fund families. The Investor Relations team has steadily grown over the last 10 years as Riverside’s funds have grown in scope and geography, and to meet the needs of a sophisticated pool of investors in an increasingly regulated environment.
Bronner's entire career has been in corporate finance and fundraising, beginning as a public accountant with Arthur Andersen, followed by five years in investment banking first with Citicorp Securities and then Merrill Lynch. He began his career in private equity fundraising in 2000 when he joined Merrill Lynch's Private Equity Funds Group.
“Erick has a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the global fundraising environment having been a placement agent for the past 12 years,” said Riverside Co-CEO Béla Szigethy. “We have a very ambitious slate of fundraising planned for the next two years, and Erick and his team will play a key role in meeting our targets while maintaining the excellent relationships we’ve developed with investors over the last couple of decades.”
“As thrilled as we are that Erick is joining, we’re equally delighted that Christine is staying with us in a meaningful role,” said Co-CEO Stewart Kohl. “Christine was our first Managing Director of IR, and she has earned the right to step back from her more than full-time role as she raises her young family. We’re always happy when we can accommodate an exceptional employee so that we can retain their valuable skills.”
Bronner’s background will be invaluable in helping Riverside continue to grow its funds, deepen existing investor relationships, and attract new investors. He will report to COO Pam Hendrickson, who manages Riverside’s Shared Global Resources team.
“I came to Riverside because I had a real passion for the firm and how they do business,” said Mr. Bronner. “I strongly believe in their approach and their methods. Moreover, I am very excited to lead an exceptional team at a firm whose future is very bright."
Bronner earned his B.S. from Lehigh University, and has an MBA from Emory University and a JD and MST from American University.
