Paris, France (PRWEB UK) 24 April 2012
Codethink Limited, a provider of engineering services for mobile/embedded devices, telematics and multi-media/multi-device content distribution systems, today announces that it has joined the GENIVI Alliance as an Associate Member. Codethink will work with the GENIVI Alliance and its members to provide more improved Linux system efficiencies with “mainstream” Linux, improve project development cycle time and to improve long term maintenance of deployed systems.
The GENIVI Alliance is a non-profit industry association whose mission is to drive the broad adoption of an In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) open source development platform. GENIVI membership ranges from automobile manufacturers, their automotive electronics suppliers and other solutions providers.
Codethink’s In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system engineering services, announced today, brings to the automotive industry skills in IVI systems, driver notification solutions and mobile device applications integration. Combining software and hardware design services, Codethink helps clients deliver systems on-time and on-budget while meeting reliability, security and real-time performance requirements.
“The automotive infotainment industry faces many challenges. We can help,” said Codethink CEO, Paul Sherwood. “Codethink improves project cycle time and reduces the challenges and cost of product life-cycle management.” Codethink points out the lag between the cycles of mainstream Linux, the increasingly rapid development of more powerful embedded processors and the greater expectations of infotainment systems’ capabilities as one of the primary challenges. Codethink combines technical project management consulting along with software and hardware design services.
Codethink brings value to the automotive industry with advanced skills in IVI (in-vehicle infotainment) systems and driver notification solutions and mobile device applications integration. On the business side Codethink's team have worked with logistics companies on track-a-trace and telematics as well as infrastructure and emergency services organisations handling command and control, rapid response and traffic management.
