"It is our privilege to now be able to serve and care for more patients in need." Cheri Cowperthwait, CEO, Lourdes Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey
Willingboro, NJ (PRWEB) April 23, 2012
Cheri Cowperthwait, CEO of Lourdes Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey (LSH), and Ed Cooper, President and CEO of Acuity Healthcare, LP, announced the completion of the expansion of LSH and upcoming Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
LSH is a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) which treats medically-complex and ventilator dependent patients in need of specialized hospital level care. The expansion project began in December 2007, increasing the capacity of the hospital from 30 to 69 beds – more than doubling in size. LSH is the highest acuity hospital of its kind in the country and admits patients from over 35 regional hospitals.
“With the overwhelming need for LTACHs in this region alone, many patients and families have had to travel out of state to receive this specialized level of care. It is our privilege to now be able to serve and care for more patients in need,” said Ms. Cowperthwait.
Mr. Cooper agrees. “We are very excited by this wonderful expansion,” he stated. “Over the years, the Hospital has established itself through its exceptional quality of care as the provider of choice throughout the region. This expansion will enable the hospital, its staff and its physicians to do even more for the community. We are honored to partner with the Lourdes Health System and are proud of what is being accomplished by the staff at LSH.”
This is an exciting time for LSH. The hospital was just named “Best Hospital of New Jersey” by the Greater Philadelphia Media for the Best Place to Work Awards, 2012. The hospital was also recognized by The Burlington County Times for partnering with the community by promoting and providing well over 100 additional jobs to the surrounding community.
