Thecolorstylist.com paid homage to Colton Dixon today by displaying pictures of their favorite hairstyles of his during this season's American Idol. The editor of thecolorstylist.com, Shannon Whiteside, an Agoura Hills hairstylist, said, "It's great to see young men having fun with their hair cuts and color. These days young adults understand their fashion culture isn't just about their clothes."

Colton Dixon, a fan favorite since the beginning of American Idol season 11, was unexpectedly voted off last night in seventh place. Many had him chosen to go all the way to the finale. Colton sang Lady Gaga's song "Bad Romance" and after being voted off commented, "I think it was Gaga, nothing against her at all. It's a great song and she has done well with it, but I think I turned off a lot of my voters by doing it."

Colton grew up in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He originally auditioned in season ten with his sister Schyler at the Nashville audition. Neither of them ended up in the Top 24. Dixon returned to the auditions in season 11 to support his sister. He was not planning on auditioning himself. The judges convinced him to audition one more time and both him and his sister were awarded golden tickets. After Hollywood Week, he was one of the top 5 male contestants and was said to be a favorite to go all the way. Colton will be a part of the American Idol summer tour, and then plans to continue pursuing his career in Christian music.

The Color Stylist is an online magazine written by hair color expert Shannon Whiteside devoted to current trends in hair coloring and styles, beauty, and advanced hair coloring techniques for hair and beauty professionals.
