During their six years in the business, Thinkso has developed motivational and inspiring campaigns for a number of clients with the goal to captivate children. Most recently, Thinkso designed Kate Tempesta’s Urban Golf Academy (UGA) brand identity to reflect its mission: develop and nourish young minds through the game of golf, combining physical and mental agility, to build teamwork and self-esteem.

“I find nothing more satisfying, yet challenging, than building an identity to tell the complete story of a brand,” said Elizabeth Amorose, Partner at Thinkso.

Self esteem, confidence and morale serve as a valuable foundation for children. Often fostered and cultivated during the beginning of their young lives, children’s self-worth is continually challenged throughout the years. Outside factors, including television, video games, peers and even brands, regularly impact a child’s spirit and tenacity. What if just one of these determinants could be controlled? What if this determinant was the brands children aspire to characterize, sport and follow? Thinkso Creative, a New York City based branding firm, is supporting this idea through design, creativity and messaging to empower and encourage children of all ages.

UGA appealed to Thinkso immediately. “I find nothing more satisfying, yet challenging, than building an identity to tell the complete story of a brand,” said Elizabeth Amorose, partner at Thinkso. “Kate Tempesta is completely unique in her practice, technique and passion for golf and child development, and we made sure to communicate that in our work. And as a mother to a four-year-old, I love tackling any project that involves children or education.”

To help this two-year-old business attract students and their parents—as well as investors and curriculum licensees—Thinkso created a playful, relatable and encouraging mascot named Birdie; a modern, intuitive website; and giveaways, t-shirts, brochures, and signage. The agency’s approach appeals to potential students through a colorful and inviting design. But it is the clear, organized and informative content that captures parents’ attention. “Kate’s approach combines her experience as a creative movement teacher with her LPGA golf expertise so that she is able to teach a child as young as four proper golf techniques. That’s a complicated story to tell,” said Amorose. “Being able to explain it quickly and compellingly instills confidence in the parents—who are ultimately the ones to make the decision to enroll their kids.”
