The Grove West Seattle Inn, the only full-service West Seattle hotel, celebrates its 50th Anniversary. Originally built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair, the inn has been fully renovated into a stylish budget West Seattle hotel.

The historic Grove West Seattle Inn, the only full-service West Seattle hotel, is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The Grove started its life 50 years ago as the Mar-Lyn, named for its original owners Martin and Evelyn Dannewig. Originally built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair, it was a model of the modern "motor hotel". Located next to the West Seattle Golf Course, the inn promoted itself as "The Motel with the Golf Course at Your Door". The property has remained the only full-service West Seattle hotel for five decades.

Over the years, the inn had begun to show its age. In 2010 a longtime West Seattle family purchased the property and embarked on a full renovation. After outfitting its rooms and suites with a modern color palette, upscale linens and flat panel TVs, the hotel reopened in 2011 as The Grove, a stylish West Seattle hotel for the budget-conscious traveler. Its location just minutes from downtown Seattle, Safeco Field, Century Link Field, and Sea-Tac International Airport make The Grove West Seattle Inn a convenient and well-priced alternative to downtown Seattle hotels.
