London Borough of Lambeth have purchased MetaCompliance, the UK market leading User Awareness, Risk and Policy Management Software.
Ian Goodwin, Information Governance Manager at London Borough of Lambeth explained how the adoption of MetaCompliance enabled the Council to comply with stringent information security legislation. User awareness was improved when the Council rolled out mandatory information security training to staff through policy communication to the desktop and by seamlessly linking through to their existing e-Learning system:
“We selected the Metacompliance product to support the roll out of mandatory information security training to all our staff as it offers a useful method of linking with our existing e-learning solution. Metacompliance will also enable us to directly communicate with our staff via their desktops, which will assist in raising awareness of information security policies and guidance to enhance our compliance position.”
Speaking on behalf of Metacompliance Ltd, MD Robert O’Brien added:
“I would like to congratulate London Borough of Lambeth for adopting a best practise approach to information security, this is an approach other Local Councils should be urged to follow in the current climate. As well as demonstrating a commitment to keeping their customer information safe, they are mitigating the risk of an ICO financial penalty in the event of a Data Breach – money Councils can ill afford to lose in these austere times. We are very much looking forward to working with London Borough of Lambeth to make compliance easier for both management and staff.”
