The first round of the Chevy Chase Cars Amateur Video Challenge to win the new iPad and qualify to win a new car is fast approaching on May 7th. The entries have been coming in, but "We know that there are a lot of young filmmakers out there with great ideas who want to capture their 15 minutes of fame and win a chance to see their commercial on television," says Digital Marketing manager David Schuster. The winner of the first round will receive an iPad HD and will qualify to win the 2013 Nissan Versa.
Here’s how it works - contestants should review the contest rules at http://www.chevychasecars.tv. They will then create a :30 video touting the benefits of any department of Chevy Chase Cars - Service, New Car Sales, Parts, Acura or Nissan. They will then upload their video to the facebook page on which they registered. The public and a selection of judges will then have a chance to vote for their favorite video.
Over the course of the year, the contest will name six semifinalists. On 12/12/12, Chevy Chase Cars will announce the grand prize winner. Semifinal videos will be posted on Chevy Chase Cars’ YouTube channels. http://www.youtube.com/chevychasecars
Local celebrities and news coverage will help promote the Amateur Video Challenge. Visual Alliance Media will support social media promotion via Facebook and Twitter.
The contest will make use of new technology with promotional T-shirts and posters that feature a QR code that will send people to the contest website at http://www.chevychasecars.tv which provides details about the video challenge.
