San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons will join forces with San Diego Center for the Arts to produce and sponsor creative music concerts, art showings and student music ensemble groups.

We are really excited that San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons will be collaborating with San Diego Center for the Arts,” says Kangas. “This collaboration will make a wonderful contribution, and be an invaluable resource for the San Diego art community.

San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons will be collaborating with San Diego Center for the Arts to put together a series of creative music concerts and art showings beginning this June.

San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons has been in the business of teaching private drum lessons in San Diego since April of 2011. In addition to teaching drum and percussion lessons, San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons also sponsors drum set and percussion workshops in the San Diego area. One of these workshops was a master class on double bass drumming in November of 2011, given by Tim Bender who played drums for ‘Death by Stereo’.

San Diego Center for the Arts is a non-profit organization that has been sponsoring concerts in the San Diego area since 2009. Some of the artists that have been featured in these concerts include: jazz guitarist legend Mundell Lowe, jazz guitarist Bob Boss, guitarist Peter Sprague, vocalist Leonard Patton, bassist for the San Diego Symphony Jeremy Kurtz, bassist Steuart Liebig, percussionist David Johnson, percussionist Nathan Hubbard, percussionist Jeanette Kangas, woodwind extraordinaire Vinny Golia and flutist Ellen Burr.

“We are really excited that San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons will be collaborating with San Diego Center for the Arts,” says Kangas. “This collaboration will make a wonderful contribution, and be an invaluable resource for the San Diego art community.”

The collaboration of these two organizations will be putting together a series of creative music concerts beginning in June with Ensemble Off n On which features Nate Jarrell on guitar, Harley Magsino on bass and Jeanette Kangas on drums. This concert will be a CD release party celebrating the release of the ensembles first CD. This series of creative music concerts and art events will be featuring musicians and artists from the San Diego and Los Angeles areas. Along with presenting concerts and art events, San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons along with San Diego Center for the Arts will be working together to create a student ensemble program. Students from San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons along with students of other musical disciplines from the greater San Diego area, will come together and under the mentorship of professional musicians learn how to play together in a group and or band setting to create a concert that will be produced and sponsored by the collaboration of San Diego Drum and Percussion Lessons and San Diego Center for the Arts.
