Gumiyo is proud to announce that it has won the 2012 ICMA Classified Media Innovation Award for Technology. Gumiyo offers a platform that enables publishers to rapidly launch mobile portals, sites, and applications for any device.

Applications for the award were judged on novelty, creativity, results, sustainability, and presentation by ICMA Board Members. Gumiyo presented its innovation at the ICMA's 2012 Global Summit in Atlanta on April 20th where the company also announced its 2012 product for publishers and SMB's.

For the past five years, Gumiyo has been solving the scalability, monetization, and operational challenges faced by classified media publishers. Gumiyo’s clients include the Tribune Company, Scripps, MediaNews Group and other leading publishers. The platform powers thousands mobile sites, applications, and SMS campaigns, and served more than 1 billion mobile page views in 2011.

Gumiyo's platform integrates with any data source or content management system (CMS) to create unified mobile websites, Apps, QR codes, and SMS programs.

"Innovation has been a hallmark of the mobile space. Gumiyo was born from this innovation and it is in our DNA," states Rich Abronson, Gumiyo's VP of Marketing and Enterprise Sales. "The speed of this innovation has been unprecedented, and many traditional companies have been in a mad rush to keep pace. Our goal is to enable our classified media customers to close the gap and meet their audiences where they are—on multiple devices throughout the day."

In addition, Gumiyo includes a flexible authoring environment and mobile content management interface for media planners, producers, and ad operations staff to manage their consumer-facing classified properties, vertical or locally-focused directories, and fulfill advertiser mobile sites, apps, and campaigns. With the platform's deployment and provisioning capabilities, classified media publishers can launch hundreds and even thousands of mobile microsites, landing pages, messaging campaigns, and content updates in minutes for advertisers or local small- and medium-sized businesses.

Today, multi-billion dollar companies rely on the Gumiyo Platform to power privately-branded automotive, real estate and employment mobile classifieds portals that include SMS and QR Code features; mobile sites for newspaper, broadcast, and radio properties; and native apps. In addition, Gumiyo customers have collectively sold tens of thousands of mobile solutions to auto dealers, retailers, recruiters, real estate professionals and large regional and national accounts. As a result, Gumiyo customers and partners generate significant incremental revenue and traffic from their mobile properties.
