New York, NY (PRWEB) April 24, 2012
The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. today announced that Megan Elizabeth Lim has received the 2012 Rising Star Award for her leadership in the Junior League of San Diego and in the San Diego community. The award, which recognizes and celebrates emerging leaders from within the 293 independent Junior Leagues, was made at AJLI’s 90th Annual Convention in San Francisco on April 21.
Ms. Lim, currently development director at the San Diego Public Library Foundation, is a founding member of Women Give San Diego, which funds nonprofit organizations that help underserved women and girls achieve economic security and self-sufficiency. She is also involved in leadership roles in other organizations as varied as the San Diego Regional Climate Education Partnership, San Diego Coastkeeper and the Equinox Center.
Within the Junior League of San Diego, she has been active in a range of leadership roles, including planning the JLSD’s first nonprofit forum for the San Diego community.
AJLI President Delly Beekman said, “Megan easily fits the mold of past Rising Star Award winners. She’s young, extremely active in her League, highly visible in her community, generous with her time…and she gets conversations started that lead to action, both inside her League and outside in her community.”
