Plymio.com: a London based flash sales website selling designer products, launches in the UK on 1st June 2012

With the advent of numerous daily deal sites in a post-GroupOn era, Plymio, with its catchy slogan ‘Shopping isn’t just buying’, is looking to stand out from the crowd by adopting an innovative business model.

Plymio is an all in one website combining a mix of daily deals, group deals and flash sales. They will specialise in selling fashion and electronic accessories as well as designer apparels. “The idea is to replicate what Fab.com have done in the US, by bringing talented UK designers and consumers to a single platform, but the model will be a tad different”, says founder Rahul Jerome. Some of the products you will find on the website will include shoes, branded clothing, mobile phones, sunglasses and designer apparel.

The site is going live on 1st June in time for the English summer season sales. Rahul hopes that Plymio will set itself apart from its competitors by pioneering an innovative business model. With a catchy slogan ‘Shopping isn’t just buying’, Plymio looks to provide an awesome buyer experience and a feel good factor. When asked how is this going to be achieved, Rahul’s answer was, “for every product purchased by a customer, a percentage of the sale will go to a charity chosen by them, they will also be aware of the amount that will be donated at the time of purchasing. Customers will get to nominate and vote for the charities close to their hearts on Plymio’s Facebook page every month. They will encompass 3 categories: local, national and international charities and those with the highest number of votes get the proceeds. This will be a great way to engage with customers and have them feel connected with the brand as well as giving them a sense of contributing towards a wider community.

Another differentiating factor is Plymio’s 60-day refund policy, something that is unheard of in the daily deal business. The customer is free to return any product purchased, no questions asked. “It’s another way of creating trust in the brand”, says Rahul.
