Web and Telecom Infrastructure/Services Executive Tackles Another Major Growth Market, Leading CGS Expansion in Federal Cloud Computing Arena
Clear Government Solutions, Inc., (CGS) a leader in providing Federally-compliant cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) to U.S. government agencies, today announced that John Kraft, a 25-year veteran of the federal and commercial Internet services and infrastructure industries, has joined the company as CEO.

Prior to joining CGS, John served as the President, CEO and member of the Board of Directors of ServerVault, a leader in secure, Federally-compliant managed hosting specializing in the sophisticated requirements of Federal Government agencies and security conscious public and private enterprises. At ServerVault, John architected the company’s go to market strategy, built the executive team and led the company to an annual growth rate exceeding 35%, culminating in the company’s successful sale to Carpathia Hosting in 2009.

Prior to ServerVault, John served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the $1B U.S. enterprise and U.S. federal division of PSINet, Inc., where he was an integral member of the executive team that led the growth of the company’s global IP network, 17 data centers and a broad portfolio of web hosting, Internet connectivity, and consulting services. Before joining PSINet, John held a number of senior sales and operational executive positions at MCI Communications.

Darren Womer, Chairman of Clear Government Solutions, commented that “John has held key executive roles at companies that were at the leading edge of three of the major inflection points in the communications industry in the last 25 years, from MCI, which created competitive telecommunications, to PSINet, the first commercial Internet provider, to ServerVault, the first Federally-compliant secure managed hosting provider. He has a proven ability to consistently grow and maximize enterprise value, and with the Cloud being the next industry game-changer, CGS is extremely fortunate to have a leader with John’s experience.”

“The dramatic cost-savings and flexibility driven by cloud-based services combined with the Federal government’s Cloud First mandate is fueling a wave of demand for Federally-compliant cloud infrastructure services,” said Clear Government Solutions CEO John Kraft. “With its Federal IT certifications and Blanket Purchase Awards in place, CGS is uniquely well positioned to help Federal agencies achieve their technology goals, and to capitalize on this rapidly growing and very strategic market.”
