TDCI Inc. (TDCI), the leading provider of product configuration software, announced today that Display Pack, a leading manufacturer of consumer product packaging has selected TDCI’s BuyDesign Product Configurator software to streamline and standardize the company’s product configuration, pricing, sales quoting and ordering processes within their Microsoft Dynamics AX Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. In particular, BuyDesign will enable Display Pack to significantly accelerate generation of configuration-specific manufacturing information such as Bills of Material (BOMs) and Routings to drive the production process for custom designed products.

BuyDesign Configurator is the core component of TDCI’s BuyDesign Product Configuration and Guided Selling software suite. BuyDesign helps manufacturers and distributors streamline sales and production processes for customized products. BuyDesign helps companies that manufacture products with a wide range of features, options, and dimensions to increase sales by becoming ‘easy to do business with.’ Using BuyDesign, companies are able to reduce order processing time, cost, and errors.

Display Pack will use BuyDesign Configurator to replace the Product Builder component of Microsoft Dynamics AX.

“We selected BuyDesign as our new generation product configurator for several reasons,” stated Display Pack Information Systems Manager, Holly Coppock. “To begin with, it is much easier to build and maintain configuration rules with BuyDesign than it is with the configurator we are replacing. BuyDesign also provides a more user friendly and intuitive user interface for our quoting and order entry personnel. But most importantly, we found in our proof of concept tests that BuyDesign is typically able to generate all of the manufacturing information to drive production planning within Dynamics AX in about one a minute rather than the 20-30 minutes it takes our current configurator. With the volume of custom packaging orders we process each day, that represents a significant time savings. Not only will that make us more efficient in terms of production planning, but it will also enable us to further improve the service we provide our customers.”

Display Pack Inc. is a privately owned, Grand Rapids-based manufacturer of consumer packaging. The company offers Single Source Solutions®, managing entire packaging projects from start to finish within its own facilities, including designing, prototyping, printing, die-cutting, thermoforming, contract packaging, and warehousing and logistics.
