Q1 eCommerce sales of Christian Books and Bibles from its DeeperShopping Christian Books Internet division rose 24.8% from 2011 to 2012.

The Association of American Publishers (AAP) 2011 statistics for the publishing industry as a whole were dismal - showing a net increase in sales. The main bright spot was in eBooks and other downloadable media. That business was up overall a whopping 117.3%. According to the AAP the other major performers were downloadable audiobooks with gains over 25%, and religious books with gains over 8% in 2011.
When you begin to break down those numbers, one thing jumps out at you - according to Christian Retailing Magazine*, and other industry sources including the CBA - 'Mom-n-Pop' brick & mortar Christian bookstores are going out of business at alarming rates, and yet Religious titles are the only printed book category to see increase sales. Which begs the question - Where is that business going? "Its obvious that a significant shift has occurred in the Christian Book industry with online sales growing at a healthy pace. We feel that independent booksellers will continue to be an important factor in the successful sales of Christian Books provided they diversify their revenue streams and start capturing online sales" stated DeeperCalling marketing manager Joe Kerr.
So where does that leave those Mom-n-Pops? "Our successes in retailing Christian Books on our DeeperShopping.com website show there is a huge opportunity for retailing life changing products.
