Author Devin D. Thorpe Says Crowdfunding Supporters Will Choose His Final Subject

Author Devin D. Thorpe will use a crowdfunding campaign for his new book, Your Mark on the World, allowing supporters to sponsor their favorite charity in the book, with the most popular becoming the subject of the final chapter.

Author Devin D. Thorpe announced today he has launched unique crowdfunding campaign for his new book Your Mark on the World that will inspire people to give more and do more for their favorite causes. The campaign gives supporters the opportunity to sponsor their favorite cause in the book for as little as five dollars; the most popular cause will become the subject of the author’s last chapter.

Using a crowdfunding campaign to help determine the content of a book is a new approach that will give supporters the opportunity to promote their favorite cause—charity, not-for-profit organization or social venture.

Author Devin D. Thorpe, who currently lives in China, commented, “ provides a great platform for connecting with supporters who are eager to make a difference in the world—which is the entire focus of Your Mark on the World, teaching people how to make a bigger difference in the world than they ever thought possible.”

Supporters to the campaign will receive increasing rewards and recognition for their chosen cause as their gifts increase. For instance, a five-dollar supporter will be listed in the acknowledgements along with their chosen cause and will receive a digital copy of the book upon publication (which is scheduled for July).

Supporters giving $20 will, in addition to the rewards received by the five-dollar supporters, have the URL for their cause listed with their name and cause and will also receive a printed copy of the book. Fifty-dollar supporters will receive the rewards of the $20 supporters, plus their copy of the book will be autographed and their listing will include a “tweet-length” plug for their cause.

Supporters of $100, $250 or $500 will receive additional rewards, including more exposure for their causes in the book.

Thorpe will then tally up the causes listed by the supporters. The charity, not-for-profit or social venture most often sponsored by the supporters will then become the subject of the last chapter to be written for the book.
