How to engage your employees in an environment continually beset by the changing demands of health care reform, is the focal point of HighRoads' 6th Annual Customer Summit, April 30-May 2, at the Palms Resort & Spa, Miami Beach. Employers will share their experiences in using technology-enabled services and new communication techniques to better inform employees, and to improve benefits plan management.

At the Summit, titled, "Hidden Opportunities: Real Life Solutions to Employee Benefits Strategies," employers presenting include Con-Way, Lockheed Martin, Pitney Bowes, Staples, and United Technologies Corporation.

Also on the agenda is a look ahead at upcoming health care reform milestones, given by Tom Barker, partner in Foley Hoag LLC, former general counsel to the Department of Health & Human Services. Barker will examine what employers might expect from the Supreme Court hearings on the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act and other anticipated ACA-related court rulings. He will also take a look at how the Presidential election could further impact health care reform.

The recently enacted Summary of Benefits & Coverage (SBC) regulation will be covered by Barker and Kim Buckey, Compliance Practice Lead, at HighRoads who will discuss why the Department of Labor regulations on electronic distribution – last updated in 2002 – should be updated to be in alignment with the new SBC requirements.
