Promoting the growth of technology and innovation startups may be exactly what the predominantly energy driven province of Alberta needs, according to PODIUM Ventures CEO, Cameron Chell.
An entrepreneur since the age of 14 himself, Chell has been founding and funding technology startups for years, and knows it takes a certain type of individual to spark new innovations.
“There is a real youth movement happening in Canada, and especially in the tech sector,” says Chell. “These are the young minds that will be this generation and next’s radical thinkers.”
As CEO of PODIUM Ventures Chell has witnessed first hand the speed that technology continues to drive innovation.
Mr. Chell believes the pace is only just beginning.
“In the last few years the barriers to entry have dropped, and the technology is becoming more commonplace. When you eliminate exclusivity, brilliant minds are able to innovate, that’s the power of our connectivity to technology.”
His presentation titled “Are you the Pie Cutter or the Pie Maker?” acts as an encouragement for young entrepreneurs to enter the market while the barriers and costs are low.
