Vinitaly US Tour in Chicago (30th April) and New York (2-3 May), will bring more interactivity to the events as technology to facilitate education, promotion and consumption of Italian Wine. Attendees will be able to use IPads with the innovative wine tasting software Vinitaly Interactive to record their preferences of the day. This data will then be emailed directly to the visitors to remind them about the wines that they had tasted during Vinitaly Tour Chicago and New York.

Giovanni Mantovani CEO of Veronafiere comments that, ”Vinitaly Interactive Wine Tasting will be introduced for the first time in Chicago and New York as we believe it could become an important tool for the producers and visitors. A small group of Italian Wines were selected to gauge one of the most important Italian Wine markets in the world, namely the USA, via Ipads, a medium many are already familiar with.”

The process is easy and intuitive, consisting of three steps: Registering, ordering the wine and tasting.
1)    Registration: The guest will receive an individual QR card in exchange for his or her business card and then will be able to go freely to the different wine tables/bar with Ipad’s
2)    Ordering: At the wine table/bar the visitor can order any wine of the participating exhibitors of the Vinitaly Interactive experience. A sommelier or service personal will ask for the QR card to be scanned at the IPad and then serve the requested wine
3)    Tasting: The visitor tastes the selected wine and can choose from different parameters (taste, scent, colour etc.) on the IPad to rate the wine. Afterwards the guest preferences can either be saved or dismissed and the customer can choose to try other wines or finish his Vinitaly Interactive Experience. At the end of the tasting, the customer will receive either a print-out of all wines tested that day or an email with his preferences.

Vinitaly Interactive Wine Tasting will be offering selected wines from Consortium for the Tutelage of Valpolicella Wines Doc, Consortium for the Tutelage of Prosecco Doc and the portfolio of Folio Fine Wine Partners including Arnaldo Caprai, Donnafugata, Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi, Masi Agricola S.p.a. and Villa Sandi.

Olga Bussinello, Director of the Consortium for the Tutelage of Valpolicella Wines said: “We immediately liked the idea of introducing Vinitaly Interactive. We can achieve three goals by using it: learning the consumers opinion and educating them about the Valpolicella wines; collecting information on who actually has tasted the wines; providing attendees with a useful list of the sampled wines that day. For these reasons, we proudly invest and sponsor the introduction of the Vinitaly Interactive initiative and be are glad that other brands have also joined”.

At New York, the Consortium for the Tutelage of Valpolicella Doc will also have a special tasting area dedicated to “Venice and his wines”, as leader of the promoting project abroad of Valpolicella Wines. The project is realized together Consortium for the Tutelage of Prosecco Doc. (See attachment)
