Corrina Ferguson Brings 12 Years of Industry Experience to VisitNewEngland.com

After 12 years of managing and marketing a major tourism destination in Connecticut, Corrina Ferguson is bringing her communications savvy to VisitNewEngland.com in her new post as Vice President of Destination Marketing, New Media and Strategy. In that role, Ferguson will oversee VisitNewEngland.com’s marketing and business development initiatives, particularly in the tourism industry.

Previously, Ferguson served as the General Manager and Director of Marketing and Education for The Dinosaur Place in Connecticut, where she acquired a well-earned reputation as an innovator and leader.

Ferguson says her new position at VisitNewEngland.com is an excellent fit for her knowledge of the challenges of running and marketing a seasonal destination and her understanding of the online space as the ideal way to connect potential visitors with destinations.

“As a client of VNE,” she says, “I was always impressed with the raw power of the website as an online travel planning tool. I am eager to share that power with my colleagues in the destination marketing industry and to focus and refine it using the growing strength of new media.”

In her 12 years at The Dinosaur Place, Corrina developed innovative strategies, marketing initiatives, and special events from start through execution. She believes strongly in the power of partnerships and she developed several of them. Most notably, she founded the Family Fun Mystic Country collaboration. She also served on the Board of Directors and co-chaired the marketing committees for regional tourism marketing groups, including Mystic Coast and Country TIA (2003-2009) and the Greater Mystic Visitor's Bureau (2011-2012). Corrina is a native of New England.
