What: Ben Martin, CAE, product and community manager at Avectra, a leading developer of web-based Social CRM solutions for associations and not-for-profits, will present a case study and lead a panel discussion on automated member engagement at the digitalNow conference, taking place April 25-28, 2012, at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

digitalNow is an annual conference which brings together CEOs and volunteer leaders from some of the most influential professional, non-profit, and trade associations in America.

Who: Ben Martin, CAE, product and community manager: An association executive with over a dozen years of experience in state, national and international trade and individual membership organizations, Ben will be presenting “A Case Study on Automated Member Engagement Index.” In addition to Ben, panelists include Nina Goldman, director of sales and member organization services at the American Council of Engineering Companies, and Sarah Palmatier, senior business analyst at DSK Solutions, Inc.

The presentation will give attendees insight into how new technologies can predict when members are unlikely to renew their memberships, identify key members and map out every way in which they interact with the membership community. The featured case study will look at how the American Council of Engineering Companies began to objectively measure membership engagement and will highlight lessons learned and show how the organization assigned points to its members and configured its index. The session is recommended for senior association staffers and the technology executives at those organizations who are in charge of record keeping and member services. Attendees will specifically:

  •     Understand the advantages of objectively scoring member engagement over assessing engagement “by feel”
  •     Gain the ability to determine which association activities are the best indicators of a member’s engagement
  •     Learn about technical considerations associations need to grapple with when setting up an engagement index
