Obesity isn’t just a personal problem. It is a national and a global problem - Bedros Keuilian, Founder of Fit Body Boot Camp.
Chino Hills, CA (PRWEB) April 25, 2012
Fitness Boot Camp Franchise Fit Body Boot Camp has put together a national campaign to bring awareness to the growing obesity problem in America. The 1,000 LB. Meltdown Challenge’s goal is to get local residents of participating cities to lose 1,000 pounds in 28 days. All participants who sign-up for the 1,000 pound Melt-Down Challenge will be charged $20 for the 28-day program, and all proceeds will be donated to charity.
“The goal is to inspire and motivate residents to lose weight as part of Fit Body Boot Camp’s Vision to expose and engage twenty percent of the world’s population to a healthy and fit lifestyle by 2020,” says Bedros Keuilian, co-founder of Fit Body Boot Camp. “Obesity isn’t just a personal problem. It is a national and a global problem.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there has been a dramatic increase in obesity in the United States. More than one-third of the U.S. adults are obese, and approximately 17% of children and adolescents are obese.
A recent study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that people with close bonds set a great example for one another; if they gain weight together, they can also lose it together.
“By providing heavily discounted boot camp workouts for participants who sign-up for the 1,000-pound Meltdown Challenge, it is Fit Body Boot Camp’s intent to further promote the fight against the obesity epidemic by getting as many people as we can to participate,” says Keuilian. “It is imperative that we inspire more people to work out, to become healthy and to participate in exercise by taking away the main barrier to entry, which is cost. Since all proceeds are donated to charity, it makes it even more special.”
Fit Body Boot Camp Owners are also providing participants with nutritional guidance and weight loss tracking during their 28-day workout program to further help them reach their personal goals.
The initial roll-out of the 1,000-pound Meltdown Challenge will be on May 7th and in the following cities: La Jolla, CA; San Clemente, CA; Santa Clarita, CA; Fort Collins, CO; Orlando, FL; Pinellas Park, FL; Tampa West, FL; Takoma Park, MD; Sewell, NJ; Albuquerque, NM; Deer Park NY; and Portland, OR. Additional cities and start dates will be announced shortly. For more information about the 1,000 LB. Meltdown Challenge, go to http://www.fitbodybootcamp.com/1000PoundMeltdown.html
