Kaneka North America, LLC Announces CPVC Plant Expansion

This expansion, as a first step in a series of initiatives, is aimed at supporting the increased demand in the Americas as well as the growing global demand for chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) and positioning Kaneka as the global leader in CPVC resins.

Kaneka North America, LLC (formerly Kaneka Texas Corporation) announced the expansion of the CPVC facilities at its Pasadena, TX complex. This expansion, as a first step in a series of initiatives, is aimed at supporting the increased demand in the Americas as well as the growing global demand for chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) and positioning Kaneka as the global leader in CPVC resins.

Activities related to the expansion are on an accelerated pace and production will begin in 2013. “We are pleased to announce this expansion,” notes Eddie Smith, Vice President, CPVC and Specialty PVC Division. “It fulfills the commitment that we made to our customers and allied partners at the start-up of our US CPVC operations, to expand as needed to support their business growth and increased requirements into the future.”

Kaneka Corporation is a $5-billion USD international company based in Tokyo and Osaka Japan. Along with CPVC resins, Kaneka North America manufactures and markets “Kaneka Coenzyme Q10® and Kaneka QH Ubiquinol™” dietary supplement ingredients, “Kane Ace® B type, M type, PA type and FM type” performance modifier for plastics, “MS Polymer™” primary building blocks for adhesives sealants and caulks, and “Apical®” insulation film used for aerospace and other critical applications.
