Panacis Inc., a global developer and producer of safe, reliable and scalable lithium battery systems providing flexible, clean power for telecommunication, defense and renewable energy applications, is introducing its products in India in cooperation with TaraSpan, the leading provider of market development services for Canadian technology companies wanting to enter India.

“We are committed to exploring new markets as we continue to grow our company and our revenues. With more than 400,000 mobile towers installed and another 250,000 in planning, the telecommunications infrastructure market in India is one of the largest and fastest growing in the world,” said Mark Kershey, CEO, Panacis Inc. “Our foray into India with TaraSpan, who have a proven track record with many leading Canadian technology products in the Indian telecommunication market, has very good scalable potential for Panacis.”

As well as attending several meetings with CXO level executives in both New Delhi and Mumbai, Panacis will exhibiting at and is sponsoring the 6th Annual Conference on Telecom Infrastructure in India, April 26-27, 2012, in New Delhi. Steve Carkner, Panacis Founder & CTO, will also be presenting a business case at the conference describing how Panacis modular batteries are currently being used for primary power in off-grid telecommunication infrastructure in the USA and can produce cost savings in India.

“We have a modular 3.3KWhr battery designed into systems delivering from 100KWhr to 260KWhr of primary power for telecommunications infrastructure,” explained Mr. Kershey. “This system will be of great interest to those in attendance at the Conference on Telecom Infrastructure. In association with TaraSpan, we seek to identify the on-the-ground partners in India that can assist Panacis in developing this market.”

“The Panacis lithium battery products are a natural fit for the Indian telecommunication market,” said Jaswinder Kaur, VP-Cleantech at TaraSpan. “With the greening of mobile towers using renewable energy, battery storage solutions will be an integral part of the solution to replace the dependence on diesel power for potentially tens of thousands of mobile towers.”
