Eric J. Hertz will be representing former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader, Shayla Stevens, in a civil lawsuit involving hip hop artists Jermaine Dupri and Shawntae Harris, aka Da Brat. The lawsuit was filed by Shayla Stevens over a club incident that occurred several years ago at Dupri’s Studio 72, located just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Shayla Stevens is suing Da Brat for an undisclosed amount and states that Da Brat allegedly struck her in the face with a bottle of rum, causing permanent scars and nerve damage to her face.

Eric. J Hertz is certainly no stranger to defending every day citizens against “the stars”. In 2010, he represented Harlen Akins in another civil lawsuit against musician Kid Rock. The lawsuit was filed by Akins over a Waffle House brawl that occurred several years ago prior to the court proceeding. Akins claimed Kid Rock and his entourage had beaten him over words he had exchanged with girls at Kid Rock’s table. Akins was awarded $40 000 in damages to be split between Kid Rock’s entourage.
