Q.bel Foods LLC, makers of Q.bel™ better-for-you chocolate wafers, today announced that their venture into the cookie section has continued to pay off in the second quarter of 2012 with major new distribution gains.
Just weeks after announcing that their new whole grain Q Thins and individually wrapped Q Rolls had been placed in an estimated 1,000 stores, the company has new gains to report. Safeway will begin shortly carrying Q Rolls in approximately 200 stores nationwide; Shaw’s, which already carries Q Rolls, is adding Q Thins to 200 of their stores in New England; Kowalski’s Markets has added Q Rolls in their 9 stores in Minnesota; and Lunds Food Holdings has added Q.bel’s impulse crispy wafers with Belgian chocolate to the front end in their twenty-one Lunds and Byerly’s stores in the Upper Midwest.
"We’re on a roll,” said Bahram Shirazi, Founder and CEO of Q.bel. “Retailers all over the country have identified the unique qualities that Q.bel offers, and they clearly want to share the great taste of our better wafers with their shoppers.” According the Shirazi, sales per point of distribution have increased significantly with the new items.
The Q.bel impulse product line was launched in January 2009, with an initial national rollout by Whole Foods Markets. Since that time, the product has been selected by many leading retailers in the health and natural foods industry. In less than two years, Q.bel sold over two million candy bars, attaining the number one rank in the “All-Natural Chocolate Wafer” category.
