hicup, a new mobile phone application that helps local individuals find each other via shared interests, has released an illustrated guide outlining the unique interests of several groups of connoisseurs. hicup’s infographic, titled “The Aficionados”, gives insight into five of people’s most common shared interests including: Wine, cars, food, art, and cigars.
“So much of our life is affected by the people we meet and share our time with,” said hicup co-founder, David Gowan. “We believe this infographic will remind people that there is a robust community of people that share their same interests and that hicup can help these people connect with one another.”
Through hicup’s infographic, viewers can read interesting facts related to each of the five aficionado groups. Throughout history people have found themselves naturally gravitating toward others with like interests, and hicup’s infographic points out that you are far from alone when it comes to your love of the obscure.
hicup, available for free in both the iTunes App Store and Android Market, was created to give users the opportunity to meet new people and make friends through shared interests.
Using mobile technology, hicup is based on the way people have always made friends – through common interests. Simply set up your account and you will be prompted to browse other people by location or interests. The “link up” feature lets users chat with others through the app. The app’s privacy settings make it possible to screen potential friends, allowing users to only link up with people when they want to.
