NuWave Solutions, a fast-growing IT consulting firm focused on the government marketplace, today announced the formation of a board of advisors.

The NuWave board of advisors consists of:

Tom Griffith (Chairman of the Board) - Lt. Gen Griffith (Retired) has more than 40 years’ experience in leading large organizations. In his last position in the U.S. Air Force, Gen Griffith commanded the Twelfth Air Force, which included more than 35,000 personnel. He was a fighter pilot with 4,150 hours flying time, including 1,000 hours in combat. Gen. Griffith joined NLX in 1996 as a training program manager and played a key role in growing the company from 45 employees to more than 500, when NLX was acquired by Rockwell Collins. He then joined MAXIM Systems, a small high-tech software development and systems integration company. In 2007 MAXIM was acquired by Accenture, and Accenture retained him as a senior executive. Gen. Griffith graduated from the U.S. Military Academy with a bachelor of science degree in engineering. He holds a master’s degree in management from Webster University and is a distinguished graduate of the Naval War College.

James Hickey – Mr. Hickey is Vice President for Government Affairs and head of the Washington office for Day & Zimmermann, a family of companies that employs more than 23,000 professionals and conducts more than $2.2 billion in annual revenues by providing industrial, defense and workforce solutions. Prior to that, he worked for the Raytheon Company for 14 years, leaving as director of congressional affairs. He came to Washington in 1986, serving first for Congressman Herb Bateman from 1986-89, for whom he handled a portfolio that included defense, foreign affairs and intelligence issues. In 1990 he served on the staff of Sen. Pete Domenici, and his portfolio was primarily defense and energy authorization and appropriations. He is a member of the American League of Lobbyists (ALL), for which he serves on the board and currently is the 2nd Vice President. He has regularly taught government relations and congressional affairs over the past 20 years, and has been a speaker on the topic for a number of seminars and conferences worldwide.

Walter S. Kulbacki – Mr. Kulbacki is the CEO/President of WK Global Solutions. He has a strong strategic, operational and technical background in information technology, and has led and managed organizations with as many as 1,700 personnel. Before founding WK Global Solutions, Mr. Kulbacki was vice president for business development for SAIC’s $700 Million C4IT Business Unit headquartered in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Prior to working at SAIC, Mr. Kulbacki was a vice president for L-3 Communications, a $14 billion defense contractor. Under his leadership, his L-3 group supported Defense Department agencies including Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the Missile Defense Agency, the U.S. Army and several other agencies and commands. He was responsible for winning more than $7 billion in contracts. Mr. Kulbacki is a retired senior-level Army officer whose career included key high-level command, leadership and staff assignments in the Army, the Joint Staff and Defense agencies including DISA, where he directed the operations of this worldwide network. Mr. Kulbacki has an undergraduate engineering degree from the United States Military Academy, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, an MBA from Long Island University and a fellowship from Harvard University.

Larry Werner - Mr. Werner is an attorney and a serial entrepreneur within the technology and telecommunications industries, and a founding investor and principal in NuWave Solutions. He has been active in the call center and voice processing markets for more than 30 years. In Washington, D.C., he owned Enterprise Answering Service before selling the company to Signius Communications. Mr. Werner currently is a director of and investor in Endicott Communications Inc. Throughout his career he has been active as a director and officer in numerous regional and national trade associations. Mr. Werner has a law degree from the University of Maryland.
