Top U.S.A poly tarp supplier Tarps Plus has increased their inventory for hurricane season. Due to the large inventory tarps will be discounted up to 60 to 70% off the retail price. Several containers of poly tarps and canvas tarps have been stock piled at Tarps Plus’ main terminal in Palmdale California. The tarps will be palletized and store for rapid shipments in the event of a large hurricane or tornado.
The Tarps Plus G.M. Angelina Urguahrt, stated, “The current inventory of tarps is one of the largest that we have ever had. Since we have so much we wanted to offer a heavy discount to our customers. If the poly tarps start to sell out, we will add more to keep our hurricane tarp customers happy.”
The tarps are essential in the event of a hurricane or tornado. In many cases roofs are ripped off after a hurricane strikes, leaving a home open to water damage for subsequent rains. This is why we always see a plethora of blue tarps scattered around after a tropical storm or tornado strikes.
Another reason for the increase in the tarp inventory was gas prices. The price of poly tarps is dictated by the cost of oil. Resin, an oil based element is oil based. The resin is a key component of making polyethylene tarps. Tarps Plus decided to increase their inventory now before the oil prices rise during the summer months. Poly tarps are used for rain coverage more so than the canvas tarps because of their flexibility and are waterproof.
The discounted tarps will be available until the end of summer. Until then the Los Angeles tarps supplier says several of containers will be arriving with more light weight and heavy duty tarps.
