Rancho La Puerta, world-renowned fitness resort and spa in Baja California, announces, for the first time, two dedicated family weeks this summer for parents and kids to have one of the most memorable, adventurous and playful vacations of their lives. The wellness resort has organized the family weeks (August 4-11, 2012 and August 11-18, 2012) to allow quality time for families with time each day to pursue individual interests.

“Ranch La Puerta values family—as it was built by a family and has been kept in the family,” says Sarah Livia Brightwood, Rancho La Puerta’s President. “We know that families who attend the family weeks will really find it a memorable, inspiring, and fulfilling experience. One that no one will forget!”

Unlike any weeks during the year, Rancho La Puerta will have activities to spark children’s attention and imagination during these two dedicated weeks for four age groups (7-11 years old, 11-14 years old, 14-17 years old and adults). Children will have an enriching experience with a variety of classes and engaging with local kids in cultural, social and sporting activities. Kids can choose to participate in any of the activities while parents will have a selection of classes to select themselves. Popular activities for kids include: yoga, Hoola Hooping, Brazilian drumming, art projects, anime, photography, cooking classes, permaculture activities, programs with the community, pool activities including water volleyball, tennis, sand volleyball, ecological programs, local geology, hiking, singing, shows and more. In addition, those 14 and older can participate in all fitness classes in the regular program, from mountain hiking to Pilates, cardio boxing and circuit training.

During the family weeks, family members will enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner together and learn the importance of fresh and organic food. In the evening, there will be something for everyone to enjoy with shows, lectures, programs and movies.

The family weeks (August 4-11, 2012 and August 11-18, 2012) start at $3,000 per person for adults and $500 per kid from 7-17 (up to four kids). Most of the luxurious garden casitsa(“little houses”) can accommodate at least two adults and one child; some are suitable for parents plus two or more children. Even if you are not bringing the kids, these are great weeks to experience the Ranch at a special low rate.
