Shropshire based corporate clothing manufacturer My Workwear has now reached the milestone of 2000 products, all of which are available for purchase via the company website. Established brands such as Dickies, Uneek and Fruit of The Loom are supplemented by products from Portwest, Russell and Hanes. Across over 80 brands, the corporate clothing supplier offer everything from embroidered polo shirts and safety boots to anti static clothing and high visibility jackets.

Focusing on growing for the firm has become a delicate balance between staying true to the values of friendly service and a personal approach expected from a family run business, whilst developing the operation to service an ever increasing customer base. The last twelve months has seen sales rise by 48% and required the implementation of increased capacity to maintain high standards of service.

A key factor here has been the introduction of a fully automated ‘just in time’ stock update system. The benefits of this technology are huge and essential to growth. Customers are able to login and see details on their order and how fulfillment is progressing. This has reduced telephone calls and provided reassurance to clients awaiting delivery. A further advantage is the system can cope with a very large number of orders and provides plenty of support for growth, as well as allowing for more efficient stock control.

Often, when growing a business, investment and cash flow can become a real challenge to manage, but My Workwear have found the perfect answer to this problem. Despite offering such a varied selection of work clothes, the company does not carry stock and all purchases are placed against confirmed orders, vastly reducing the risk of stock write off. Money is often received in advance of payment to suppliers, a real advantage in business management.

The workwear supplier also offers an online logo service where you can submit your order complete with design direct, further reducing processing time and providing the customer with all his needs from one order. As well as embroidery, the firm also offer a heat transfer service for printing logos on to garments. Turnaround time for all internet orders is also speedy with completion and delivery taking place within ten days.

To encourage the most efficient form of orders, customers are offered a minimum reduction of 15% on internet orders compared to those placed by telephone. This further reduces order allocation time and allows for automated growth of the business.
