New version expands capabilities of insurance industry’s fastest-growing agency management system

The marketplace’s rapid adoption of Epic is testimony to the system’s ability to
manage policies in a consistent manner that
drives sustainable growth and profitability.

Insurance software company Applied Systems announced the general release today of Applied Systems Epic® 6, the newest version of the insurance industry’s fastest-growing agency and broker management system.

In less than three years in the marketplace, Epic has been adopted by more than 500 agencies and nearly 17,000 users, Applied Systems said. Epic’s Microsoft® .NET architecture provides the industry’s only single-system solution, scalable enough to meet a wide variety of needs from mid-sized agencies up to the largest enterprise-level organizations. The application’s modern and intuitive interface, based on agency best-practices workflows, is designed to allow users to streamline business operations.

Applied Systems said Epic 6 provides agents and brokers with new capabilities for more streamlined agent-carrier communications, particularly for commercial middle-market business. Among newest efficiencies are the software’s enhanced policy marketing workflows, expanded real-time options, and new methods for agencies and carriers to exchange information and attachments.

In addition, Epic 6 provides new accounting efficiencies, enabling agencies to manage producer/broker commission payables and revenue sharing among agencies. The software also enables agencies to allocate expenses across multiple agencies and generate comparative financial reports.

“We’re looking forward to Epic 6 for several reasons, including the value of the marketing capabilities,” said Sherrie Aldrich, corporate project manager at Alliant Insurance Services, an Epic 6 beta agency. Alliant is among the 15 largest U.S. brokers and the largest in the specialty insurance category.

“The workflow in the Epic system had already assisted us in creating and managing the marketing process,” Aldrich said. “Because of the capabilities in Epic 6, we anticipate the ability to manage even more effectively and provide quantifiable statistics regarding our submissions and carriers, further enriching our communications and relationships with our carriers.”

“The marketplace’s rapid adoption of Epic is testimony to the system’s ability to allow agents and brokers to manage policies in a consistent manner that minimizes risk, reduces operating expenses, and drives sustainable growth and profitability,” said Applied Systems CEO Reid French. “Epic provides agencies with the most technologically advanced platform for automating the business of insurance.”
