The new Atlas Copco Compressors Product Company in Houston is now fully operational, processing and distributing customer orders across North and South America. This state-of-the-art facility produces a wide range of standard and customized air compressors, dryers and skid packages.

All sales, service and manufacturing functions are included under one roof at the new facility, providing a streamlined customer experience to help ensure the fastest service possible, including timely updates with accurate, up-to-the minute information throughout production.

“Addressing our customers’ needs is our primary focus, and having all of our services, from start to finish, consolidated at one facility, where we can streamline the process with even greater efficiency, will only enhance the service our customers have come to expect,” said Dave Prator, vice president southern region, Atlas Copco Compressors.

A dedication ceremony is scheduled to take place at the facility at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 4.

More than 150 employees are now working at the new center, including 55 jobs that are new to the Houston area. Atlas Copco expects to fill a minimum of 15 additional positions, and there are opportunities to expand operations at the facility as capacity increases.

This 96,000 square-foot facility is a competency center for Engineered Products and is home to four unique Business Units: Atlas Copco Systems Houston, which produces a wide range of standard and customized compressor skid packages; Greenfield Compression, which produces high-pressure compressor packages along with Natural Gas Vehicle dispensers; and the production site for a wide range of standard and customized air dyers and air treatment products. In addition to housing these full-scale production facilities, the building is home to the Southern Region Customer Center, which is dedicated to providing first-class support to customers throughout the region.

“This custom-built facility gives us all of the tools we need to meet our growing production schedules with the exceptional quality our customers expect,” said Mark Steven, general manager, Houston Product Company. “We have invested heavily in the latest equipment, including crane lifting equipment, a fabrication shop, paint booth and a new testing facility where we can test all products in-line with the latest specifications.”
