Winged Media Pty Ltd, creator of the world’s first domain name exchange for domain investors, has debuted in the Business Review Weekly Fast Starter list for 2012.

For an unlisted company, this is one metric that really counts and demonstrates we’re on the right track for success

Produced annually, BRW’s Fast Starter surveys start ups to determine the definitive list of businesses that have proven their resilience and willpower during challenging times. Businesses making the BRW Fast Starter list must also have increased their revenue and continued to outperform their competitors. In the current global economic environment businesses that make the Fast Starter list are best placed for future success.

For start up businesses to have qualified, they must:

  • Have commenced trading after June 30, 2006
  • Have reported at least two fiscal years of revenue
  • Reported revenue of more than $500,000 in 2010-11
  • Revenue for 2010-11 must have been higher than 2009-10
  • Have 200 or fewer full-time employees
  • Have more than one main customer
  • The bulk of revenue cannot come from government grants or other start-up funding
  • Private companies must have revenue figures verified by an external accountant or auditor

“BRW Fast starters is an enviable list for entrepreneurs to join and a great target list for equity investors to identify investment opportunities” said Troy Rushton, Winged Media CEO and founder. “Fast and sustainable growth is an important metric and demonstrates we’re on the right track for success. I’m proud of what my team has achieved so far, but we know there is still a lot to do.”
