Employees at Lee Sapp Ford are excited to get their hands on the new 2013 Ford Escape when it arrives at dealerships next month. Certified by the EPA as the most fuel efficient small SUV available, the 2013 Ford Escape is the better looking younger sibling of past Escape models. Not only does the new Escape out perform its competitors in terms of fuel efficiency, it was awarded a better MPG rating than last year’s Escape Hybrid.

While the best fuel efficiency was achieved by the 1.6-liter EcoBoost® engine, all three engine options were certified by the EPA at or above 30 MPG highway. The 33 MPG rating on the 1.6-liter engine is 2 mpg better than competitor Honda CR-V and 5 mpg better than Toyota’s RAV4. While this in itself is impressive, Lee Sapp Ford is also excited by the fact the 2013 model gets 5 more mpg on the highway than the 2012 Escape.

The dealership in Ashland, Nebraska also wants to let consumers know that they aren’t sacrificing power by opting for the more fuel efficient 2013 Escape. Although the 1.6-liter engine, available in North America for the first time, offers less power than the 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter engine options, the smallest Escape engine still out performs Mazda’s CX-5 in terms of horsepower and torque.

By finally relieving the Escape of its boxy stature, Ford designed the 2013 model with aerodynamics and attractiveness in mind. Following in the Explorer’s footsteps, the Escape’s new shape now resembles that of the Edge Crossover instead of the Expedition SUV. With an increased width and an elongated frame, its softer lines make the 2013 Escape Ford’s best looking vehicle in a long time.
