Continuum Performance Center and ROOT Wellness + Nutrition invite you to indulge in Foodception: Field to Palate -- an interactive food tasting that explores the origins and benefits of seasonal ingredients, in everyday cooking. This May, attendees will embark on a flavorful journey focusing on lighter fare and a refreshing summer cocktail. Participants will also tap into each of their five senses, during this unique culinary experience, to truly discover the best this season has to offer.
Mike Smith (CPC) and Tanya Hart (ROOT Wellness + Nutrition) host this year long, six class series (March, May, July, September, November, January) revealing the benefits of highlighted seasonal foods, how they serve the body, and most importantly, how to create palate pleasing recipes. By the end of each tasting, Foodception attendees will truly understand the essence of the season in order to share their unique culinary journey with others, from field to palate.
Tuesday, May 15th at 6:30pm, Continuum Performance Center (18 Maple Court), will host the second of six Foodception: Field to Palate workshops focusing on seasonally inspired recipes that accent a variety of local and seasonal foods such as melons, honey, spinach, and radicchio. “Veggies like spinach and radicchio help tone the liver and cleanse the blood due to their high antioxidant properties. A great way to clear your body of toxins and lighten up just in time for summer,” explains Certified Nutrition Consultant Tanya Hart. Participants will also enjoy sipping on a naturally sweet, summer cocktail that’s simple to make, yet has unbelievable health benefits. Mike Smith, Director of Metabolic Training at CPC, adds that “There are so many advantages to eating locally grown, fresh produce. We’ve designed the Foodception workshops to help participants explore those benefits and learn how to maximize their nutritional value in daily cooking.”
July’s workshop will feature seafood options to barbeque alongside a beloved summer staple. Participants attending this class will learn how to make burgers with the same flavorful taste, but without the fat calories, following a few simple substitutions. Class dates and topics in September, November, and January will be announced shortly.
