A Course In Miracles International Artists venture out of their “comfort zones” in search of a new expression for International Forgiveness Week and Weekend of Perfect Peace.

The Art of Love and Forgiveness

There is a vision which beholds all things as sinless, so that fear has gone, and where it was is love invited in. And love will come wherever it is asked.

In preparation for “The Art of Love and Forgiveness”, a major ten-day visual arts exhibition, planned as part of the event program for International Forgiveness Week and Weekend of Perfect Peace (September 14 -23, 2012), at the Miracles Healing Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI, some twenty artists, most of whom will be represented in the exhibition, are gathering, this week, to take part in a different kind of workshop.

“The workshop,” explained event coordinator, Arty Senger, “involves each of us artists, drawing the name of another artist from a bag, and working with him or her, regardless of discipline, style or aesthetic, to jointly create a piece of art. It is a very exciting idea. You have no idea who you will pick to work with. We get to release our grievances and practice Forgiveness in every moment!”

According to fellow event coordinator, Sonja Madsen, this is simply an exercise in mixing disciplines. The disciplines vary from painting to sculpture to photography etc. We are not as concerned with the result of the collaboration as we are with the actual exercise itself. It serves to broaden the perspective of the individual artists, and encourages them to venture out of the seeming safety of control, to collaborate with another artist, whose discipline and or style may not be one they particularly like. This is a big challenge for most artists, but a giant stride through the unknown, in the undoing of fear. We have no idea what will happen. But it will be fun to find out.”

Continued Madsen, “I am always inspired by this prayer in A Course In Miracles, which for me, expresses my heart's desire, the very core of forgiveness, the essence of our celebration in September. The prayer goes like this, 'Now let a new perception come to me. Father, there is a vision which beholds all things as sinless, so that fear has gone, and where it was is love invited in. And love will come wherever it is asked. This vision is Your gift. The eyes of Christ look on a world forgiven. In His sight are all its sins forgiven, for He sees no sin in anything He looks upon. Now let His true perception come to me, that I may waken from the dream of sin and look within upon my sinlessness, which You have kept completely undefiled upon the altar to Your holy Son, the Self with which I would identify.

“'Let us today behold each other in the sight of Christ. How beautiful we are! How holy and how loving! Brother, come and join with me today. We save the world when we have joined. For in our vision it becomes as holy as the light in us.'”

International Forgiveness Week and the Weekend of Perfect Peace will be observed worldwide on September 14 – 23, 2012.

A Course In Miracles International will hold special celebration events at the Miracles Healing Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI, and in affiliate centers around the world.
