The Dallas Cowboy's are making it clear this year is about defense, defense, and oh defense! For the first time in several years the Cowboy's used their first four draft picks defensive. The choices: Morris Claiborne, Tyrone Crawford, Kyle Wilber and strong safety Matt Johnson.

The real question may be why these picks? Besides their first-round trade-up for cornerback Morris Claiborne, the rest seem to be projects.

Kyle Wilber at 6-foot-4, 249-pound was today's first pick for the Dallas Cowboys. Wilber showed best performance during college as a pass-rusher so the Cowboy's will possibly be prepping him for that role.

In the third round Cowboy's picked Boise State defensive end Tyrone Crawford who was the 81st pick overall. It was their only selection and owner Jerry Jones had to wait more than three hours and watch 48 other players get selected Friday night before he got his turn.

"Long day,'' Jones said, "Long day.''

Crawford at 6' 4", 285 pounds had 13 sacks in both his seasons at Boise State. That kind of resume matches up with the Cowboy's major objective this year. That objective was to add potential impact players for defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.

Eastern Washington University safety Mat Johnson, was the final pick in the 4th round. This was a dream come true for Johnson whose first NFL jersey as a child was famed Cowboy running back No. 22 Emmit Smith.

“It’s awesome,” he said of being picked in the fourth round. “My dad grew up as a Cowboys fan, so I did too and we watched a lot of their games. I even had an Emmitt Smith jersey – it was the first one received.”

It's been a busy month for Dallas. Last month they signed Bradon Carr to a $50 million, 5 year deal along with safety Brodney Pool and linebacker Dan Connor.

This season is expected to be one of the highest demanded ticket sales for the Dallas Cowboy's. Ticket Hunter online projected a 75% increase in ticket mark ups by 4th quarter. They have anounced a 30% discount on all Dallas Cowboy's Tickets by using promo code "wicked" at tickethunteronline.com
