San Clemente, CA (PRWEB) April 30, 2012
Voted the Best Burger of San Clemente by the San Clemente Times People's Choice Awards, The Riders Club will be celebrating its two year anniversary on June 1. The second anniversary coincides with the launch of a new website for The Riders Club, created by web design and online marketing agency Blazonco.
Featuring quality “slow fast food,” the restaurant offers just four menu items: a burger, hot dog, carnitas sandwich and salad. Many of the ingredients are made at The Riders Club itself, notably the natural beef that is ground in-house. Although there are only four options on the menu, the burger selection includes beef, veggie patty, chicken or portabello mushroom. House-made pickled beets come on the side upon request.
Cartoons from the 1930s continuously play throughout the restaurant, as does rock music from the '70s, '80s and early '90s.
“Anywhere I went in San Clemente it was the same thing – surf videos,” says owner Brian McGraw of his choice to play classic cartoons throughout the restaurant. “I wanted something different and I love old cartoons, so that was the natural choice. They're fun for kids and adults, and don't distract from the music because there isn't any dialogue.”
Formerly the location of a service station in the 1930s and then Dave's Mexican Food, a local hot spot for more than 30 years, The Riders Club's name was inspired by old horseback riding clubs in the days of Ole Hanson, the city's founder.
“People told me I was going to fail because we were serving local craft beers instead of Budweiser and Coors,” says McGraw. “Of all the reasons we might have failed, they said it would be because I didn't serve Coors. I guess they were wrong.”
