Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano, with 25 locations across the country spread across 12 states, has partnered with The Mark Wine Group to feature a signature Barolo to be offered by-the-glass, a first for the casual Italian restaurant chain.
The 2005 vintage of Batasiolo Barolo DOCG, was rated 90 Points by Wine Spectator, will be sold for only $13.99 per glass as a part of the restaurants new wine list that has been rolled out nationally on April 18th. The better news is that the new vintage of 2006 will be coming out in the next month, was rated 92 Points by Wine Spectator, and will be featured at the same price. The same bottle of Barolo can easily be found for over $100 on any wine list across the country, so this gives Biaggi's loyal guests an opportunity to sample an award winning wine at an incredible value.
Batasiolo has a proud history and is considered by many to be the leading family in the Langhe region in Piedmont, with more than 120 hectares of land in the Barolo region. Batasiolo Barolo, made from 100% Nebbiolo, is its flagship wine having appeared in the Wine Spectator Top Wines no less than six times.
The new Biaggi’s wine list, will be in effect until May of 2013 and will pair impeccably with some of the menu’s heartier dishes such as the Osso Buco, Lasagne Bolognese, or Filet Mignon.
Mark Gmur, President of The Mark Wine Group and liaison for Batasiolo to on-premise restaurant and hotel chains points out why the brand is so well suited to Biaggi’s “Batasiolo, owned by the Dogliani family of Piedmont, is a true family winery, and Biaggi’s also represents the best in family values. The winery is proud to be a part of this program”.
