Connect Your Home plans to launch its first summer internships program to local Orange County college students and graduating high school seniors beginning in June 2012. There are five paid internships available, one for each department, including: sales, marketing, operations, IT, and finance. All internships require a 20 hour commitment per week and will be applied towards classroom credit for any students that are eligible at their school. Students that are selected to be a part of the internship program will get experience in the department they’re interested in learning more about that correlates with their studies in higher education.
Students can begin applying online for the internship position of their choice beginning May 6th through May 26th. All applicants selected for the internship program will be notified by June 4th with an official start date on Monday, June 18th. All five interns can expect to participate in departmental and companywide meetings, contribute to new projects, be part of brainstorming sessions, be mentored by an experienced leadership team, and work directly with employees to facilitate day-to-day tasks in a fast paced, but welcoming environment.
“My internship at Connect Your Home has been an incredibly valuable experience, and never felt like an average job. Everyday has been different, and there are always events to take part of. Everyone here is great to work with and fun to be around,” said Albert Fajardo, a design intern in the marketing department.
Interns at Connect Your Home will also be immersed in the company culture where they can attend companywide barbeques, volunteering opportunities, and team building activities. At the end of the internships program, students will take away invaluable hands on experience for professional development and an understanding of the different business channels involved in the competitive home services industry.
“Creating opportunities for students to learn about all of the dynamics of a business outside the classroom is important to us,” said Vice President of Marketing, Michael Ryan Grier. “We value being able to provide support to students across the country not only through our annual scholarship program, but now with the addition of our summer internships program as well.”
