Elliott Data Systems, Inc., a leading provider of business solutions and services for industries including Identity, Tracking/Accountability, Healthcare, Government, Gaming, Education, Financial and Emergency Management, celebrates its 40th year of successful operation. What began as a small local provider of ink and stencil-based addressing/mailing machines has grown into a dynamic, evolving solutions provider covering diverse markets and serving customers that span all geographical regions of the United States.
Founded by Jerry Raburn in 1972, Elliott opened its doors in Memphis as Elliott Impression Products, Inc., serving customers who addressed mail in bulk. His years of customer experience taught him the value of cultivating an exemplary customer service strategy as part of a larger Best Business Practices Plan. “In order for our customers to trust us and keep coming back, they have to know that we care about their success enough to be accessible any time they need us”, said Raburn.
As technology changed, so did the business. Stencil addressing gave way to the plastic card and embossing technology which presented new markets for Elliott. With the business migrating forward, other changes were taking place at Elliott. After 20 years, Jerry and his wife, Barbara, sold the company to people within the corporation who shared their business philosophy. Tim Green, Mike Raburn, and Lori Raburn took the reins, heading up sales, service, and business office respectively. Elliott Impression Products, Inc. became Elliott Data Systems, Inc.
In 1999, Elliott expanded to St. Louis, Missouri in order to serve more customers with plastic card solutions. The expansion next continued to Chicago, IL as part of Elliott’s new Healthcare Solutions business. Most recently Elliott’s reach has grown throughout the U.S. with the help of partners distributing Elliott’s Mobile Solutions TM Software Products. As a result of all this hard work Elliott’s employees, customer base, and revenues have continued to grow.
In 2010, another internal management buyout occurred. New owners Josh Dunbar and Curtis England continued the process that was already in full swing. In its 40 years, Elliott has made a paradigm shift from reseller to solution developer and integrator, and as a result continues to enjoy business success to such a degree that the company had to more clearly define its path and direct resources to support its three business units – namely Identity Solutions, Mobile Solutions, and Healthcare Solutions. “We are pleased with the direction our company is taking and we look forward to continued success,” said Curtis England and Josh Dunbar.
