Physicians don’t have to give up their Android phones to fully take advantage of pMD following the release of the native Android app for the mobile charge capture software. Rigorous testing and exceedingly high performance standards have resulted in a well-received app that has exceeded expectations for users in delivering the popular, easy-to-use pMD applications to streamline data management and workflow for thousands of physicians each day.
pMD user Dr. Steven A. Stanten of First Surgical Associates in Oakland, Calif., who is especially appreciative of the pMD app for the Android, said, "My partners use iPhones and have pressured me to switch, but I love the bigger screen on the Android. pMD is very easy to use, and it's been great for us to see our patient list right from our phones."
The Android app is being hailed as one of the most celebrated releases of the pMD software platform, which allows doctors to capture their billing charges, manage patient information and communicate with each other electronically.
“There was a point during this journey where it seemed impossible to create an app that met our high expectations for usability and simplicity on the Android platform, given the range of devices and lack of uniformity,” pMD CEO Philippe d'Offay said. “We are gratified by all of the positive feedback that we’ve received from our beta users. We learned from them that our customers would love it, but we never would have imagined how much.”
Dr. Andrew Castellanos, University of Cincinnati Hospitalists, another happy pMD Android user, explains, “I’ve used other charge capture systems in the past, and pMD on the Android has been a wonderful experience! It's extremely easy to use, and it is convenient for me to put my charges in throughout the day and have the ability to review them while I'm completing my notes. I have only positive things to say about pMD - I love it!"
pMD will continue adding additional functionality to the Android app for different specialties, such as MCP visit counts for nephrologists. The app is currently being distributed directly from pMD and will be available in the Android Market later this year.

pMD's mobile charge capture software supports physicians by allowing them to enter their patient charges into Android, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and BlackBerry devices at the point of patient care. The patient visit is then visible to other doctors within the practice and can be billed immediately. Doctors using charge capture are increasing their ROI in a time when Medicare cuts and other costs are significantly impacting profitability. pMD increases efficiencies in a practice through automation, and it provides free interfaces with almost every major electronic medical record and medical billing system, including Allscripts, athenaCollector by athenahealth (Athena), GE Centricity CPS and GE Centricity GPMS (formerly Millbrook and IDX), Cerner, NextGen and Vitera Intergy (formerly Sage Intergy).
