One Child One Planet is now available as an interactive book for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch platforms through the InteractBooks App.

What differentiates this book from others on the topic is its sheer optimism and captivating photography, and now, its interactivity!

With April upon us, author Bridget McGovern Llewellyn is busy with her third annual Earth Day Book Tour. This year, however, she has a major announcement. Her book, One Child, One Planet: Inspiration for the Young Conservationist, has gone interactive and global. Teaming up with InteractBooks™, she has converted this award-winning book into an interactive e-book, initially available within the InteractBooks app, and soon available direct from the iTunes store.

Children of all ages will be captivated by this interactive tribute to Mother Earth, her gifts and her greatest concerns. Charming prose and awe-inspiring photography come to life in this family treasure that will create excitement and responsibility toward the planet. The peaceful nature sounds of this interactive version will stimulate young nature activists, while several activities make this more than a book – it’s an educational and entertaining experience.

Llewellyn said, “I had been considering the digital platform for some time, however, cost and time of conversion had put me off. When I heard about IntetactBooks and the InteractBuilder™ software platform, I thought it was affordable in many ways. I could download their free software and convert the book myself. I was even more surprised when they quoted me a great price and told me it would be ready for Earth Day! (This was about two weeks ago!) This medium not only allows the child to interact with the book, it also allows me to send this universal message around the globe.”

InteractBooks is a company built on a very simple concept, it “Brings Books To Life” via its proprietary unique software platform Interactbuilder™. It works with self-publishers and larger publishing houses, and through its design studio, can offer full conversion services if required.

Ezra Weinstein, CEO of InteractBooks explained, “We developed our free Interactbuilder software to make it easy for authors, illustrators, publishers and story-tellers to create wonderful interactive books that can be uploaded and sold via the plethora of Tablet and Smartphone devices. Conventionally this has been a costly, lengthy exercise and therefore, only available to a select few. The conversion of Bridget's wonderful book shows what can be done within a small amount of time and some great imagination. Our aim is for Interactbuilder™ to become the premier go-to software for interactive book publishing.”

One Child, One Planet, is a Mom’s Choice Award winner, a National Best Book honoree, and silver medalist for the Benjamin Franklin award for 2010 Best Children’s Picture Book. One Child, One Planet spreads a universal message, and so appropriate that it becomes more accessible to a global market in this interactive format that truly engages the child in the book and its story.

What differentiates this book from others on the topic is its sheer optimism and captivating photography, and now, its interactivity! Llewellyn teamed-up with award-winning wildlife photographers, Carl R. Sams II and Jean Stoick, co-creators of the New York Times’ best-selling In the Woods series of children’s books and videos. Through photography, One Child, One Planet reveals big and small places of beauty on the planet, fostering an appreciation that will, in turn, encourage us all to do our part to maintain a healthy world.
