We have put together some simple tips that all new and inexperienced drivers may wish to follow when driving this summer.
(PRWEB UK) 2 May 2012
New drivers who have recently passed their test might be taking to the roads during summer driving conditions for the first time.
Apprehension may strike the hearts of older British motorists at this time of year as young drivers often take to the roads more frequently during the summer months. Not only are those who have recently passed exercising their new found freedom, but a number of teens may also take driving lessons during the summer when they have more time.
Car Loan 4U Co-Director Ryan Dignan comments;
“For inexperienced drivers, having excitable young friends in the vehicle as passengers can be a major distraction. Road casualties are typically lower in the summer than in the winter*, however, it is still important for young drivers to learn the value of motoring safety during all weather conditions. That’s why we have put together some simple tips that all new and inexperienced drivers may wish to follow when driving this summer."
Top tips for young drivers over the summer
1. Concentrate on driving
Blearing music and noisy passengers can all prove to be serious distractions for young drivers. Inexperienced drivers will need to concentrate heavily as they might not be used to driving with passengers. Mobile phones, mp3 players and loud music can also distract young drivers from the roads so it would be advisable to switch all portable devices off. It is illegal to use a mobile phone whilst driving.
2. Speed control
Under peer pressure, young drivers might feel the need to speed. This is dangerous as it puts the driver and passengers' lives at risk. Peer pressure can cause young motorists to make risky and reckless decisions. Speed and inexperience on the roads are a deadly combination.
3. Drugs and Drink
All motorists should avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Judgements, reaction speeds and co-ordination movements are skewed under the influence of alcohol. Illegal drug use while driving could seriously result in a fatal accident. Both should be avoided at all costs.
