Eric Brand (http://www.ericbrand.com/hospitality/default.aspx), a prominent high-end, contemporary furniture designer/manufacturer for guest rooms, suites and public areas, will unveil their innovative, cutting-edge touring showroom – dubbed the "mobile materials bar" – at the Hospitality Design Exposition & Conference (HD Expo) in Las Vegas May 15-17, 2012. Bringing their decked out showroom to the Expo, Eric Brand offers a new way to present hospitality designers a comprehensive collection of specialty materials for their projects – “à la carte”.

The 18’ trailer was transformed into a swanky and functional traveling showroom with various monitors displaying details of complex projects and a “materials bar” – complete with a menu, servers and martini glasses – where HD Expo goers can take a seat at a barstool along the hammered silver bar and underlit onyx counter and select from a spectrum of materials to go over their design presentation. “Never before have designers had access to so many materials in one setting. Competitors typically will only show a subset of materials, whereas we are showing a vast array of materials sourced worldwide,” explained Owner Eric Brand.

The booth will also host a “Happy Hour” with beer and wine from 3pm-5pm on Tuesday to pique visitors’ interest, as well as a bowl of finely polished exotic finishes mix, which replaces the quintessential bowl of peanuts. “Hospitality designers can literally scoop up ideas,” Eric added. Eric Brand chose the HD Expo for the inaugural road trip given its broad audience of designers looking for innovative products and the best new material and manufacturing options in hospitality. Following the show, the trailer will make various stops at design centers nationwide. Updates will be posted on the blog at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Eric-Brand/279118005508340.

Eric Brand’s “à la carte” approach offers unlimited finish options to allow hospitality designers to conceptualize the product with a wide spectrum of materials pulled together. Testament to Eric Brand’s ability to present materials from all over the globe, renowned designer Kelly Wearstler explained, “I can always rely on Eric Brand for his quality material selection. He is always accountable for his work – that is why I work with him on so many of my projects.”

Playing off the “bar” setting, Eric explained, “This really elevates to a whole new level the notion of great ideas being born in a bar as they’re jotted down on a cocktail napkin. Some of the best ideas have made their way from sketches on cocktail napkins, and we hope to create an even more conducive environment and bring designers’ concepts to fruition by pulling from the vast materials and resources that we have available to our designers. Even though we’re in Vegas, what happens at our materials bar doesn’t have to stay in our materials bar, as it relates to great concepts.”
